What Made Yami Gautam Visit The Bombay High Court?

Yami Gautam plays a lawyer in Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu. The film releases tomorrow and stars Shahid Kapoor and Sraddha Kapoor, in the lead roles along with Yami.

Batti Gul tells the story of inflated electricity bills due to faulty meters in rural India. 29-year-old Yami started prepping for her role, long before the film went on the floors. To pick up the mannerisms, body language and legal jargon right, believe it or not, Yami visited the Bombay High Court on several occasions.

Yami Gautam who will be seen on the big screen after almost a year-and-a-half with Batti Gul Meter Chalu (her last release was the Hrithik Roshan starrer, Kaabil) underwent a make-over for her part. She recently went chop-chop on her long tresses. Her new look as the smartly turned out lawyer fighting Shahid Kapoor, is crisp and elegant.

We had recently told you that Yami’s Vicky Donor co-star, Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira was uneasy about his hot scene with the actress in the film. Ayushmann made the revelation in an exclusive interview with SpotboyE.com.

“I was wanted by everyone (after Vicky Donor became a hit). We were also going through a rough patch. She (Tahira) was not ready for all this." Did she ask him to induct a 'No Kissing/Lovemaking Clause' in his contract with filmmakers? "She wanted to of course that I should not kiss on screen. You see, were like the first boyfriend and girlfriend of each other (when we fell in love at a very young age)," Khurrana had replied.
